Ahhh, the cool winds of autumn have begun to blow, evening is creeping in earlier and earlier and more often than not we end up waking up in darkness. Very conducive to sleep but makes dragging yourself into your day a bit trickier! With the season change comes bundling up, central heating and thoughts of Christmas. Ack! I've said the "C"-word. Curses! Well, to take our mind off the chilly weather and strain to our budgets that holiday shopping brings, I thought we'd have a look at a rather stunning blogger who has caught our eye at BritMums HQ this week.
This particular blogger has been blogging for some time but we just love the magic of her words and particularly enjoy her take on many subjects. The BritMums Blogger of the Week "laments the passing of some back-to-basics, ‘old school’ parenting. When “Because I Said So”, was a legitimate parenting tool. She believes that children should not rule the world (or merely the household) because they do not yet have the experience to do so. How old is HerMelness Speaks? A lady never tells. Let’s just suffice it to say that she is the other side of having a tight arse and this side of being a tight arse!"
Welcome HerMelness Speaks as this week's BritMums Blogger of the Week! HerMelness wrote a brilliant post inspired by the BritMums Blogging Prompt, entitled ASA, Please Airbrush the Truth into Classrooms, Not Britney Spears' Bum. HerMelness has her finger on the hot topics and eloquently says what a lot of us are feeling about the airbrushed "perfection" we're being subjected to.
We love the post Kids, At What Point Do We Stop Blaming Mum and Dad where we learn of a childhood indiscretion of HerMelness' and are challenged to think about behaviour and who is actually responsible for the actions of our children. HerMelness always gets us thinking!
In addition to being an amazing writer and blogger, HerMelness has volunteered to be one of several BritMums "Big Sis" Mentors on the BritMums network in our upcoming Mentoring programme. More "experienced" bloggers will be paired up with "newbie" bloggers to offer advice, constructive criticism and support as the newbies are just starting out. We're really excited about this programme and even more thrilled that HerMelness will be offering up her expertise as well. Watch out next week for a special "Big Sis" mentoring post from HerMelness where she'll share some of her valuable advice! You won't want to miss this!
Add HerMelness Speaks to your reading rota and follow her on Twitter (@HerMelness) for brilliant writing and tweets full of blissful sarcasm. Enjoy your weekend of blustery, Autumnal breezes! Until next week...happy blogging!
